Indonesia launches safeguard investigation on imported garments and apparel accessories

On October 2, 2020, the WTO Committee on Safeguards issued a notification of safeguards submitted to it by the Indonesian delegation on October 1. On October 1, 2020, in response to an application submitted by the Indonesia Textile Association (Indonesia Textile Association) on September 9, 2020, the Indonesian Committee on Safeguards opened a safeguards investigation on imports of Articles of Apparel and Clothing Accessories (Articles). On September 9, 2020, the Indonesian Safeguards Committee initiated a safeguard investigation into the import of Articles of Apparel and Clothing Accessories. The Indonesian tariff numbers of the products in question are 6101, 6102, 6103, 6104, 6105, 6106, 6109, 6110, 6111, 6117, 6201, 6202, 6203, 6204, 6205, 6206, 6209, 6214.

The interested party shall submit both electronic and paper-based written applications for registration of response within 15 days from the date of filing.
