Antibacterial finishing agents can be divided into organic, inorganic and natural.


Early antimicrobial agents are basically organic series, mostly containing nitrogen, sulfur, chlorine and other elements of the compound, its main varieties are: quaternary ammonium salts, biguanides, alcohols, phenols, aldehydes, organometallics, arsenic, thiophene, etc.. Natural antimicrobial agents, extracted from animals are mainly chitin, chitosan, etc., extracted from plants are mainly hinoki oil, Artemisia oil, sorbic acid, licorice, tea polyphenols, etc., there are also antimicrobial agents extracted from minerals. In the natural antimicrobial agent more widely used for chitosan, chitosan mainly from crab shells, shrimp shells, shells and the outer skin of insects and the cell wall of fungi and enzymes, its resources are abundant and biodegradable.
