Taiwan restricts NP and NPEO in textiles

Since 2009, Taiwan, China has set a safety requirement for textile and work wear products, cns15290 - Textile safety (general requirement). This standard was updated in September 2013 and is currently included in limiting phenol (NP) and nonylphenol ethoxylate (NPEO) in textile products.

Textiles and Workwear products imported into or created or sold in Taiwan, China are required to comply with the mandatory inspection mechanism, which is the basis of the requirements outlined in cns15290. Then the commodity inspection mark shall be placed on the product, tag or other packaging materials.

Related to the new CNS15290 safety requirements, BSMI announced the standard test methods for residues of alkyl phenol polyoxyethylene ether in textile products, and the standard test methods for free and hydrolyzed formaldehyde components in textile products.
